Whenever road construction projects begin everyone in the community is affected by the improvements. Specifically, around the 41st & S. Harvard area where road resurfacing improvements began in January this year. There are several businesses in the surrounding area Fox Cleaners, CVS, Sprouts and Edison H.S. All of these places of business have been impacted by the roadwork.
When thinking about the future of their businesses often shop owner’s remark that the work negatively affects business because the flow of traffic gets redirected away from their business.
The project on 41st & S. Harvard according to some estimates costs nearly $3 million, and consists of new waterlines, storm sewers, sidewalks, driveways and traffic signals and handicap ramps. However, for the amount of time these citizen’s and shop owners have to lose money because of the improvements is often a hard trade off and takes some compromise on both sides.
It is now July 10, 2017 and the project does not look even close to completion. Pace will continue to monitor the project and provide timely updates as they become available.
